FAQ
Learn More About Our Pressure Washing Services
-
What is pressure washing?Pressure washing uses high-pressure water spray to remove loose paint, mold, grime, dust, mud, and dirt from surfaces and objects such as buildings, vehicles and concrete surfaces.
-
What is the difference between pressure washing and power washing?Like pressure washing, power washing is typically used for cleaning outdoor surfaces. The main difference with power washing is the use of hot pressurized water to blast away any debris or stains, making it more of a heavy-duty option.
-
What is the difference between pressure wash and soft wash?Soft wash incorporates special low-pressure nozzles on the end of a pressure washing gun or wand, whereas pressure washing uses high pressure water stream.
-

-
Why should I hire a professional pressure washing service?Even though pressure washers can be rented at many home improvement stores, there is a method involved in the pressure washing process. Not only does this include ensuring the pressure is right for the job, but also picking the right equipment, such as the wand, tip and any cleaning product that may be used. This ensures your home is not only clean, but it also stays clean as long as possible.
-
How often should I use a pressure washing service? There is no firm answer for this question. This is something that differs from one situation to another. Generally, it is recommended that you pressure wash your property at least once every two years. One factor that can help to extend the time between pressure washing services is the chemicals that are used during the process. Mold and mildew is going to resurface very quickly but chemicals used during your service can help keep the problem from returning for an extended time.
-
Is there a standard pressure that is used for cleaning? No. There are many different pressures that can be used. The amount of pressure used really depends on what is being cleaned. For example, a high-pressure water stream with a fairly wide nozzle is generally used to clean a concrete sidewalk, however, when cleaning aluminum siding, it is best to use softer pressure.
-
Do you use hot water? At this time, Dirt Gobbler does not use hot water.
-
How do I get a quote for services?Give us a call at 804-922-7407 and we will be happy to come out to look at your property and take some measurements. This service is free of charge.
-
What if it is raining on the day of my service?Light to moderate rain will not affect our ability to provide you with pressure washing services. We will have to stop services or reschedule if there is lightening in the area. If there is ever an issue with the weather, we will contact you on the day of service to reschedule.
-
Why should I seal my concrete sidewalk or driveway?Bottom line is that concrete is a porous material, meaning it easily absorbs water. When cold weather sets in, the water absorbed will freeze. The expansion of frozen water can easily crack concrete. Sealing concrete will prevent water from being absorbed by the concrete helping prevent cracks. Many other household chemicals such as oil, salt and fertilizer can discolor and damage unsealed concrete. Having your concrete sealed helps prevents staining.
-
Are there any benefits to sealing pavers?Sealed pavers, either for a walkway, patio or driveway are better protected against damage caused by water, stains and fading, as well as seasonal damage from ice and snow. This helps pavers to continue to help accentuate the pavers color longer than unsealed pavers. Sealing pavers also helps to reduce mildew growth and from weeds penetrating paver surfaces.
